Frequently Asked Questions

  • Question: What is a Webinar?

A Webinar is a live seminar presented over the Internet.

  • Question: How does the Webinar work?

A Webinar transmits a live seminar presentation over the Internet allowing registered seminar attendees to hear all seminar presenter(s), see exactly what the in-person attendees see on the hotel ballroom's screen, and ask questions; however, you will not see the presenter(s).

  • Question: What will I need in order to participate?

You need a computer with high-speed Internet access and speakers (external provide superior audio; however, internal will suffice).

You can perform a test of your system by visiting this website: https://support.goto.com/webinar/system-check-attendee

  • Question: Do I have to purchase any software?

No, there are no additional costs.  Your only purchase is the cost of the seminar.

  • Question: Do I need to open an account or sign up for a free trial at www.joinwebinar.com?

No. To participate in a Webinar you do not need to open an account with www.joinwebinar.com nor do you need to sign up for a free trial with www.joinwebinar.com.

  • Question: Do I need a webcam to attend a Webinar?

No. You are listening to the presenters live and seeing any presentations shown to the live audience on your computer screen in real time; however, you will not see the presenter(s).

  • Question: How many live seminars/webinars do you present per year?

Two.  They are usually held in April and September.  Each live seminar/webinar has new information and new approvals.

  • Question: Am I able to ask the presenters questions?

Yes, the software has an option whereby you may type a question that will be relayed to the live presenter (reminder, you hear, but do not see the presenter).  There is a limit to the number of questions that can be answered due to time constraints; however, presenters will remain after their presentations and will attempt to answer any unanswered questions via the Internet.

  • Question: Can multiple people attend the Webinar from the same location (a seminar party)?

Yes! The only limitation is that each participant must have their own computer and each one must be connected to the Webinar in order to answer the poll questions to verify their attendance.

To accomplish this you will need what is known as a router (either wireless or wired). If there is an existing "wireless hotspot" or wireless network then the odds are very good there is already a wireless router installed. If not then you can purchase and set up a wireless router for $50 - $75. If a group of people are getting together that could be $10 each.

Consider all the pluses to hosting a seminar party versus attending in a typical seminar venue: Better seating, better food and better company. You are surrounded by your own group of court reporter friends, so you don't have to worry who you are sitting next to or that your view is blocked by the person in front of you; the food is guaranteed to be better than hotel cooking; you can talk to each other without worrying about disturbing the people around you; less travel; it will be more affordable and with all the comforts of home.

We suggest testing your router in advance to make sure it can support the number of people who will be attending.  Further, we recommend that there is no on-line gaming (XBox, PlayStation, etc.) being done at the same time.  Playing on these devices locally should be fine.  Finaly, we recommend that there is no video (movies etc.) streaming being done at the same time.

  • Question: How do you verify Webinar attendance?

Each participant MUST answer the poll question during EACH individual seminar; failure to do so will result in no credits being awarded for that individual seminar.  In addition, there is a log in and log out time recording.  Again, poll questions MUST be answered for EACH individual seminar, no exceptions.

  • Question: How late can I register?

You must register prior to 11:59 p.m. EST the Wednesday before the Webinar date.  For information on early/late registration fees please refer to the Course Outline page on our website.

  • Question: Can I register by telephone?

Registration is available online only. We use 128-bit encryption to ensure secure transactions.

  • Question: Can I attend more than one live webinar/seminar from CCR Seminars in a CEU cycle?

Yes, you can attend more than one CCR Seminars' live webinar/seminar during your CEU cycle.  Each live webinar/seminar is unique and contains new and/or updated information.  Each live webinar/seminar receives new approvals.  NCRA and other boards/associations do not allow the reporter to attend an identical seminar during a CEU cycle.  CCR Seminars never repeats an identical live webinar/seminar.

  • Question: What are the system requirements for attending a Webinar?

To attend a Webinar using a PC, the following is required:

    An up-to-date web browser:

    • For Webinars - Google Chrome (two most recent versions) or Mozilla Firefox (two most recent versions)
    • For On Demand Seminars - Microsoft Edge v100 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® v52 or newer or Google Chrome v57 or newer

    Windows® 10 or newer

High-speed internet connection (Cable modem, DSL, or better).  Please note that on-line gaming (PlayStation/XBox etc) or video streaming during the webinar on the same network is not advised.
USB headset or speakers (external provide superior audio; however, internal will suffice).

You can perform a test of your system by visiting this website: https://support.goto.com/webinar/system-check-attendee

  • Question: Can Mac® users attend a Webinar?

Yes, Mac® users can attend a Webinar. The following is required:

You can perform a test of your system by visiting this website: https://support.goto.com/webinar/system-check-attendee

  • Question: Can I attend a Webinar via a Smartphone (iPhone etc) or Tablet (iPad etc)?

You can attend a Webinar via iOS & Android devices. You can do so using your devices browser but for a better expereince we recommend installing the Webinar App in advance.   These can be found here: https://support.goto.com/webinar/help/how-do-i-download-goto-webinar#:~:text=Mobile%20users%20can%20install%20the,their%20iOS%20or%20Android%20device

Please note the following operating system (OS) requirements:

    • iOS 12.4 or newer (GoTo app)
    • Android OS 8 (Oreo) or newer

At this time we do not recmmend attending via a SmartPhone (iPhone. etc.) as participation with the poll question attendance verification that is required may not function correctly, but may in the future.

  • Question: Are instructions provided for a Webinar?

Yes.  Instructions are located in the Resources section of the CCR Seminars website.  We strongly suggest you print the webinar instructions and have them on hand for the Webinar.

  • Question: How do I join a Webinar?

You can join the Webinar by doing the following:

    1. Go to www.joinwebinar.com.

    5. Enter the Webinar password/ID provided by CCR Seminars, if required.

  • Question: When should I set up/sign into the Webinar?

We recommend not waiting until the last minute to sign in to (set up) the Webinar. Sign-in for the Webinar starts at 8 a.m. Eastern time and the seminars themselves will begin at 9 a.m. Eastern time.   In order to be able to participate in the seminar via the Internet you need to access the Webinar.  Step-by-step instructions are available on our Resources page and we recommend that you print those and have them available at all times.  If at any time you experience problems accessing the Webinar please call the help desk which is open 24/7 at 1-800-263-6317.

  • Question: What if I have difficulty accessing the Webinar?

There is a 24/7 technical help line available 1-800-263-6317 and 1-877-582-7011.

  • Question: What if I lose my Internet connection to the Webinar?

If at any time you become disconnected from the Webinar for any reason, please simply reconnect.  If upon reconnecting you receive a message that you are already signed-in, simply place the number “1” at the beginning of your email address when reconnecting (i.e. JohnDoe@aol.com would become 1JohnDoe@aol.com).

If you experience a service disruption from your Internet provider and cannot rejoin the Webinar, you will be awarded credits for the seminars you completed (individual seminars that you verified your attendance by answering the poll question during each individual seminar).  Please notify CCR Seminars of the service disruption and we will allow you to attend the next Webinar for free or make up the missed individual seminars via on demand seminars available 24/7 through this website.

  • Question: When do I receive the Webinar password/ID number? I paid for my seminar, but I haven't received my Webinar password/ID e-mail to join.

After completing registration and payment, you will be e-mailed an order receipt that includes your Webinar password/ID number and all the necessary information to join the Webinar, which you should print and have on hand when attending the Webinar.  In addition, a record of your registration will be added under the My Account section which is accessible from our dashboard.  If for some reason you have misplaced your order receipt you can retrieve it at any time from our website by clicking on "Review my order history" under the My Account section.

Please note that we no longer send a separate email 24-48 hrs before the start of the seminar.

  • Question: Do I need to submit paperwork to the NCRA to receive my live Webinar CEU credits?

No, the software tracks your participation.  You will be awarded credits for the seminars you completed (individual seminars that you verified your attendance by answering the poll question during each individual seminar). Live in-person attendees are required to sign in at the beginning of the seminar and sign out at the end.  CCR Seminars provides the NCRA with this information.  For state CE credits the court reporter will have to submit them according to their own state(s) rules or regulations.

  • Question: What if the hotel facilities experience a catastrophic power failure?

Should this extremely unlikely scenario happen, CCR Seminars has a back-up system to continue to broadcast the live Webinar, though, there may be a small delay until the system comes online and you may need to rejoin the Webinar.

  • Question: How do I obtain my certificate?

For our live seminars (Webinar or In-Person) certificates are usually available Thursday after attending a Saturday seminar.  On-demand seminar certificates are available immediately upon completion.

The easiest way to obtain your certificate is to log in to our site and then on the RIGHT hand side there is a button labled "Surveys & Certificates"; click on that.  It will take you to a page where you will see a list of all seminars you have purchase/completed.  Find the seminar in question and click on the hyperlink titled “Take Survey” to take the survey (required by NCRA & state boards).  Once a survey is taken that same link changes to be titled “Download Certificate”; you would click that to obtain your certificate.

Please note that you can download your certificate as many times as you want and this is also the area of our web site where you can obtain a copy of your order receipt; click on the link titled view details to do that.

  • Question: When are certificates available?

Certificates for on-demand seminars are available in your account as soon as you have completed an on-demand seminar.  Certificates for live seminars/webinars are usually available Thursday after attending a Saturday seminar.

  • Question: Do I need to submit paperwork to the NCRA to receive my on-demand seminar CEU credits?

Yes, it is the participant’s responsibility to notify the NCRA of CEUs earned via on-demand seminars.

Recently NCRA changed the process for reporting CEUs; now it is done online. There are instructions for on-demand NCRA CEU submission and a link to the NCRA submission website page in the Resources section of the CCR Seminars website once you are logged into your account. Resources tab is located near the top of the webpage once logged in.

Since all of CCR Seminars' on-demand seminars are prequalified/preapproved by NCRA you only have to fill out the short form, basically your info, name, NCRA#, etc., you do not have to fill out the long form that is on the NCRA website, that form is only for seminars that are not prequalified or not approved by NCRA or if you are submitting the CEU's via regular mail (which will incur extra NCRA fees).  Your certificate for each on-demand seminar has all the necessary info and you must submit the certificates to NCRA.

As a reminder, if you requested NCRA CEUs on your registration form for attending a live seminar/webinar, CCR Seminars reports the credits on your behalf; you do not need to report them.

  • Question: How do I complete an on-demand seminar?

Simply access the on-demand seminars section of the dashboard to review our seminar library and purchase a seminar.  CCR Seminars utilizes "cloud" technology that permits access to the on-demand seminars via our website, no downloading necessary, simply purchase a seminar and the player will appear on your computer screen [please note that you do not have to complete an on-demand seminar at the time of purchase, it will be placed in your account and can be completed at any time].  You will listen/view the seminar which can be paused but not fast-forwarded nor rewound.  You will be asked a verification question at the end of the on-demand seminar that you MUST answer correctly in order to be awarded CE credits.  Should you answer the verification question incorrectly, you will have to view the complete seminar again. Please note if you lose Internet connection or some other technical issue causes you to be closed out of the seminar or you had to close the seminar yourself, the website is designed to remember your last position within a minute or less of where you left off.  When you go back to complete the seminar, you will be asked whether you want to start from beginning or continue just choose continue.  If the last position feature did not work on your computer just email CCR Seminars at info@ccrseminars.com.  Should you answer the verification question incorrectly the second time, you will fail the seminar and will have to purchase another seminar.  Please note the second verification question may not be the same as the first.  Upon answering the verification question correctly, you will complete a short survey which is mandated by state/national associations and boards; once the completed survey is submitted, you will gain access to your personalized certificate.  There are no refunds for on-demand seminars.  Should you purchase the wrong on-demand seminar, simply contact CCR Seminars at info@ccrseminars.com for assistance.

Please do not close the verification question page/window once it has been displayed.  Closing the verification question page/window will result in the verification question being marked as answered incorrectly.

Note:  These instructions we have outlined above will be repeated during the actual on demand seminar.

Note: NCRA will charge a submission fee for any seminar that is not live.   NCRA permits the reporter to submit all seminars viewed in one calendar day and in a single online submission for a single $45 submission fee (viewings of seminars on multiple days will result in multiple submission fees).  In addition, it is the reporter's responsibility to notify NCRA of CEUs earned via on-demand seminars (certificate of completion will contain all necessary information).

It is the participant’s responsibility to notify the NCRA of CEUs earned via on-demand seminars.  Please see the FAQ regarding reporting on-demand seminar CEUs.
